It's officially spring and although the weather doesn't exactly look like it, I thought my outfit could brighten up my day! Although I love spring flowers, I don't really love the spring showers. But this yellow jacket is just what this cloudy day needed and it definitely got me excited for the weeks ahead when I know the sun will be shining bright.

Easter Sunday is approaching quickly and if you're like me, the mall rush the Saturday before Easter is extremely overwhelming so I love to online shop during this time of the year. While looking online, I found some beautiful floral dresses that would be perfect for Easter or any spring occasions.
All three of these dresses are under $25 and are super cute!

My advisor told me that every pre-med should constantly be reading books about what it's like to be doctor. Books about the everyday duties and emotional consequences of the profession. Books that you've recently read or that inspired you are also great talking points in an interview and you would hate to be caught off guard if asked "what book(s) have you read lately?" With help from him and some that I found on my own, I comprised a list of books that I think that all pre-medical and medical students, or just people interested in the medical profession should take a look at!

Last  Saturday, I  attended a Diversity in Medicine conference at Campbell Osteopathic Medical school. At this conference there were medical professionals, medical students and medical school admissions staff. Although I hate schmoozing, at some point in my journey to medical school and my professional career attending conferences such as these inevitable and important for networking... you never know who'll meet and sometimes it really is about "who" you know.

With so many medical professionals and staff attending, I wanted to make a good impression and the truth is people form first impressions within 30 seconds of looking at you, so your attire is important. Because this is a professional conference, the dress code was be business causal. I put together 3 possible looks that would be appropriate for attending events such as these:

Look 1:


This collared shirt and vest combo is actually one entire top! So that makes it so easy to throw on and not get over heated. I paired it with a pair of slim cigarette pants from Forever 21. Not too dressed up, but I look neat enough to tour a professional school.

Look 2:

This is my favorite outfit of the three. I found this amazing A-line dress for $4.99 at Forever 21 during their clearance sale! I decided to add a blue polka dot button down underneath because I wouldn't want to show too much skin in a professional setting. My pointed flats were a must because we spent most of the day walking around and touring the school and labs.

Look 3:



It was still a little chilly last weekend, so I paired a classic black turtleneck from Ann Taylor Loft with a pink and black pencil skirt that I found a Goodwill. A simple pencil skirt is always my go to when the dress code is business casual!


BTW, The conference was amazing. It was so surreal to get a glimpse of what my life might look like in a couple of years, We toured the OMM (Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine) Labs and the anatomy labs (no pictures were allowed), and also did a practice simulation with a Simulation Dummy that hypoglycemic. The experience made me even more excited to go to medical school and one day practice medicine!
