ADVENTURES IN APPLE PICKING

Happy Friday Guys! And also happy national coffee day! Before college, I couldn't even stand the smell of coffee, but being pre-med change my tastes. I've always been Starbucks girl, but lately, I've been loving McDonald's McCafe. Normally I get their mocha or caramel frappe, but last month they rolled out a whole new line with Americanos, Caramel Macchiatos, and even a Pumpkin Spice Latte! And no offense to Starbucks, but I'm cheap and McDonald's is advertising their coffee for $2!

Anyway, in today's post, I wanted to talk last weekend's apple picking trip in the NC Mountains. This was my first time apple picking, but I've been wanting to go for years, and finally made the trip to SkyTop Orchard in Flat Rock, NC. It's a 2-hour drive from Charlotte, but worth it! The orchard is HUGE and so family-friendly. I will admit it got very crowded, but because of the size of the orchard, I never felt like I was on top of anyone.

There were so many apple trees and I never realized the variety of apples there are! SkyTop has a list of available apples on their website if you're looking for a particular type!

I wore my favorite new plaid top from Target!

My friend Alexis came with me on the trip!

This basket seemed small at first, but it held half a bushel of apples...that's nearly 20-22 lbs!
And we carried it throughout the whole orchard...my arms were so sore the next day!

Apple Cider Donuts! (why I really made the 2-hour drive

BURNT ORANGE CHOKER TOP & OLIVE SKIRT

Happy Fall Y'all,
I'm so excited to start the best season of all. With all the beautiful foliage, pumpkin spice everything, cinnamon-scented everything, the best pies... apple and pumpkin and one of my favorite holidays, Halloween!
In Today's post, I'm wearing two of my favorite fall colors, burnt orange, and olive. I love this choker top I got from Gabe's and it was only $6.99! I was in Forever 21 and just happened to spot this skirt as I was getting ready to checkout and knew I had to grab it! I already own an olive jacket and olive jeans, but I couldn't resist this skirt and I can't wait to wear it more throughout the fall!

STRIPED TOP AND LINEN PANTS

Happy Thursday!

This post is way late, and honestly I haven't been posting as much as I'd like to, but I sometimes feel too overwhelmed with life. For the past two weeks, my father has been in the hospital from diabetic complications and then my primary application for medical school was finally verified and all of the secondary applications came all at once! So life has been life... but I did have a relaxing Labor Day, which is what Labor Day is truly for!

For Labor Day weekend, I had to breakout my linen pants. Although I'm feeling all the Fall "Feels", it is still technically summer and I feel like Labor Day is the unofficial end to the hot season, so stripes and linen pants felt like the right outfit to say goodbye on a warm day in September! Usually our summers down here are blazing HOT, and shorts are the go-to, but sometimes I like to wear long pants and jeans can feel too heavy for an extremely warm summer day. But these linen pants are the perfect solution! The lightweight material and flared legs help keep me cool and breezy! No wonder linen pants are a resort vacation staple!

With the devastation in TX last week with Hurricane Harvey and the impending Hurricane Irma brewing, I hope everyone is staying safe in NC, SC, GA and Florida.
