WINE TASTING AT TREEHOUSE VINEYARDS

Happy Tuesday y'all!
I hope you had a great start to your week. I had a relaxing start to mine after I spent Sunday afteroon tasting wine and exploring Treehouse Vineyards. My friends and I got to explore this cute little vineyard tucked in Monroe, NC, just 30-40 minutes outside Charlotte. It was unique in that like their title, they have treehouses!

The vineyard has 3 treehouses on the property, that you can pinic in or even stay the night (perfect for date nite!).

Because there is a hint of fall weather in the air, I wore a rust colored floral dress with my jean jacket and a fedora!

Sundays are always fine with wine and good friends!

RED AND BLACK COLORBLOCK SCARF AND LEATHER SKATER SKIRT

Happy Friday guys!
I must admit, the week after Labor Day is a difficult one for me, but hopefully I'll get back in the swing of things next week, especially because I start my first Phlebotomy class. I'm super excited, but kind of nervous about balancing my time with class, work and keeping up with studying for the MCAT.

Side note for any pre-meds: the new 2017 MCAT dates were released yesterday and will soon be avalible for registration at aamc.org

Now back to this outfit with this adorable scarf from Charming Charlie's Collection with Style Watch:

MY FIRST MCAT PRACTICE TEST

Hi Guys,
It's the Tuesday after Labor Day, this is the Mondayest Tuesday by far! I love 3-day weekends, but the struggle is real when trying to return to the actual work-week. Once I managed to drag myself out of bed, I tried to get some studying in for the MCAT. I must admit, I have been slacking lately, and I am behind in my study schedule, but I know myself and accounted for this and that's why I decided to stretch my studying out a little longer than the average student.

Anyhow, I took my first practice exam this evening, and I'll admit, I was nervous and I had been putting it off for weeks, but I knew I needed some baseline score to really know where I stand in my strengths and weakness.

Here it is:

To be honest, this is kinda of exactly what I expected to score. I honestly haven't taken General Chemistry in 5 years and physics just goes over my head, so I'm not surprised at all that my score in Chem/Phys is 121, I had hoped to score higher on the Bio/Biochem and Psyc/Soc sections because those were my field of study in college and I just finised Biochem this summer, but I'm not done with my content review so I'm not too displeased. I also realize that I need to spend more time on CARS and brush up on my reading and comprehension (this tends to be the section that frustrates most MCAT takers).

Overall, it was a nice to get my feet wet, see how the test is formatted and identify my weaknesses early on. I do, however have to remember that this practice test was extremely abbreviated (only 2.5 hours and honestly I finished in 1.5) so as I get closer to my test date, I'll be taking the actual 7-8 Full Length exams to get a more realistic experience.

Hope you all aren't feeling the Tuesday after Labor Day Blues

FALL LAYERING: GRAY CARDIGAN AND WHITE PANTS

Last week with all the rain from the Hurricane Hermine, the temperature cooled down enough for it to acutally feel like Fall and I was able to get my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. I honestly don't know if it was my hunger or the fact that I hadn't the drink in such a long time, but it was extra delicious!

Fall in the South starts off cool in the mornings, but by mid-day I'm sweating again, so layering is essential. In today's post, I layered a gray printed cardigan over my white pants that I didn't put away after Labor Day and a simple black tee, and tossed on my black ankle booties for the perfect fall look that will keep you comfortable all day!

I'm also loving my purse that Charming Charlie sent in my prize pack for winning the StyleWatch x CC Contest

Earrings- also Charming Charlie

TRANSITIONAL FALL PIECES

Transitional Fall Pieces

Happy Labor Day weekend!!!

I can't believe how fast summer has flown by, I fill like June and July went in the blink of an eye and now it's time for fall again!

Fortunately and unfortunately, I live in the south, so we get to enjoy summer a little bit longer (sometimes too much longer), so while I feel the urge to start fall shopping, I don't want to yet invest in pieces I probably won't be able to wear until mid-October.

Today, I wanted to share some pieces that I think are perfect to buy that you can wear now and later!

1. Anorak/Utility Jacket

2. Ankle Booties

3. Maxi Skirt

4. Button-Down Skirt

5. Scarf
